I witness something each week that I thought I would write about...makes me laugh. There is a couple here on Long Island, NY, that ride group rides. I would say they are in their late 40's, early 50's. Each ride they dress identically. I mean EVERYTHING is the same. Same jersey, shorts, socks...even their "after ride" shoes are the same. As soon as the car door opens, there they are...perfectly matched. One of them just got a new bike, but as you guessed, they rode the same bikes for years, too. Oh yes, rumor has it that they don't live together...that means that they have to be in contact with oneanother prior to the ride to coordinate wardrobe. Maybe you have to see it to appreciate it, but WE find it hysterical. Sometimes it's these odd things that make the ride even more interesting.

I have a couple of friends that are dating that are the same way. They may not always match head to toe, but their bikes are the same, the helmets and shoes as well. Seems a little odd to me..but to each his own!

A friend of mine had a great term for folks like this - match-a-mums (complete with a little song where you'd work in the matching item - e.g. la la la blue rain jacket match-a-mums - everything match-a-mums is a bit over the top).
