|Michelin Axial Race tires for everyday riding ?||Tahoe Gator|

|Have always used Axial Pros, but Michelin doesn't seem to make that particular designation. Now there are so many different Axial tires that I have no idea which is the replacement. Basically, I want something more long-lasting than all the special "lite" versions that seem to wear out after a few hundred miles. Prefer all black. Is the Carbon Race the Axial Pro's replacement? Advice appreciated.|

|I use Carbons on my training bike 700x23,the pair I have on now have run 1500 miles,no problems, I should get another 500 out of them. On my race bike I use Pro Race 700x20. They are both great tires for their intended use.|

|The Pro Race is the newer version of the Axial Pro, and it's reputedly more flat resistant and durable. It's available in basic black, or black with yellow or blue sidewalls. The Axial Carbon is a little heavier but even more flat resistant and durable, however it's only available in black with a thin yellow or red stripe.|

|I only flatted once on one of them. They are the replacement for the Axial Pros. I found those to be great tires as well.

|As others have said, the Axial Pro Race replaced the Axial Pros. I use the Pro Race for hard training and some racing. For example, I'll use the pro race on the fast thursday group rides or long sunday endurance rides. I use axial carbons on my lesser training days and on crummy weather days. I have Axial Pro Lights on my race-only wheels.
I love my michelin tires, but I am kinda, okay, really ticked off that the pro lights will now only be available in that bright teal/blue whatever color that is. I am by no means AR when it comes to fashion on my bike, but I am sorry to say that there is just no way that color would work! I had to scramble to see if any local shops still had any of the old axial pro lights laying around. I've only come across two so far. :(
Marketing sucks. :( Guess they have to make sure that anyone who see you KNOWS that you are on the pro lights. Silly, because the people fo which the color MIGHT make a difference for aren't the target consumers of the tire anyway.
end of rant...
