I just got this thing a few days ago and am still trying to figure it out,

This morning I rode to work with it in "measure mode". So it was not recording anything. I was riding my utility bike so it didnt even have the speed or cadence sensors on it.

wierd thing #1
a few minutes into my commute I notice that the stop watch was running even though I hadn't pushed the start button. I returned the main (middle) display to the time of day wich stoped the stop watch. OK

Wierd thing #2
the watch kept beeping at irregular intervals while still in the measure mode

Wierd thing #3
when I got to work I checked the file to see if anything was recorded and this is what I got

Exercise Time: 2min 8sec (the time at which I turned off the stop-watch)
Hr: Max-231, Av-157 (why would it record if in "measure" and these numbers)
Exercise Distance: 0.2 (what, no speed sensor)
Speed: Max-15.9, Av-7.5 (what, no speed sensor)
Cadence: Max-197, Av-174 (no cadence sensor)

Can someone tell me what the heck is going on. How is this thing recording speed, distance and cadence if I don't have the sensors on my bike? How is it recording hr if I didn't push the start button? And those numbers are totally rediculous.

Wierd thing #4
I measured my hr off the bike (in my apartment and at work) with the watch in "measure mode". None of this stuff happened, just a regular heart beat, no stop-watch, no beeping, no crazy cadence, speed, distance recordings

the only thing I can think of is that the watch "sees" the altitude changing and my heart rate going up and down and that may trigger something else in the watch

It the same reason you get spikes in heart rates and speed. The EMP fools the HRM into thinking that your speed sensor is working and that your HR is 240.

I can understand that, but why would it record it into a file if I didn't push the start button?
