Elite Mag Volare or Manoura HyperMag Turbo: which one?(5 posts)

Elite Mag Volare or Manoura HyperMag Turbo: which one?Sandbox
Jun 5, 2003 4:46 PM
Hi all,

I'm currently wanting to buy an indoor trainer. Just a basic one with a remote will do. I have boiled it down to the Elite Mag Volare and the Manoura HyperMag Turbo. At this stage I do not know if one is better to train on, or if one is more durable than the other.

If you own one, or have used both before, a reply and perhaps a suggested buy would be greatly appreciated.

thank you

I have a mag turbo but never use it anymore. Rollers seem to do a better job for me.

The adjustable fluid trainer is great. When put to the max resistance, you can do hill climbs until you puke.

Is the up hill simulation not available for the magnetic version? What is the difference? Does the fluid version spill water?

thank you

The resistance of mag units is never as great as fluid units.MR_GRUMPY

The fluid units are filled with oil. Mine has never leaked.
The good thing about getting it at Performance, is that if it ever does leak, they will replace it.
I think that the only difference between the Elite and Performance units is that the Performance resistance unit is spring loaded, the the Elite unit is screw loaded.
Make sure you get the adjustable fluid unit.
