|wheel warranty issue?||reklar|

|Last night my gf flatted on our ride. As I was putting the tire back onto my gf's new (purchased less than a month ago) trek 2200, I pushed a plastic (park) lever against the rim for a bit to get underneath the tire. This managed to remove a small chunk of the outer coating of the rim!
I'm clueless here as to what happened here...I've been changing tires on different bikes for years and have never seen anything like this. Is this type of thing common? Did I make a mistake in pressing the lever against the rim? Should this be handled via warranty?

|I have had several treks go back to the shop and tell them what happened. They can get if fixed fairly quickly (if you got it from a good shop).|| |
