I previously posted about buying a 98 trek y foil with ultegra components. The guy wants $800. Should I go for it or is there a better bike to get for $800?

if it fits and you have $800 to spare buy it, but it sounds a bit steep for a bike that trek doesn't even make anymore. I think you could get it for $500 if you looked around.

It is a size lg, blue, y66 with ultegra components. Looks to be in excellent shape. So, You think it is worth it?

Yes, if in excellant shape you are getting a very good deal. Yfoils seem to be going up in price as they get older, they are becoming collectable. If you buy it, join the users group and post a pic!

Thx. I posted a message there, too. I know it is illegal in UCI to race but what about local races in ND,MN, or WI?
any ND MN or WI riders out there who race USCF?ClydeTri

Can you use non-traditional frames such as Yfoils or softrides? We know they are UCI banned....

A very quick perusal did not turn up anything outlawing yfoils...

It looks like it is legal. Thanks for finding that for me. I am really leaning towards buying this bike. Especially after reading some of the reviews.
