cippo in tourMPH74

despite leblanc's decision of a few days ago (citing that they couldn't have 23 teams in the tour), is there any chance cippo will get in since in appears that salanson's team may pull out of the tour due to his tragic death???? i'm surprised i haven't heard or read anything about this possibility.... i guess it isn't likely???
I doubt Salansons team will pull out - it's too important (nm)TJeanloz

Quote fro reuters article: The team decided to withdraw from the tour and was returning to France, said Bernadeau.

I think that means they are out of the Tour of Germany - not the Tour de France
That's how I read it too (nm)TJeanloz

Here's my outlook...First, the others are correct, they pulled out of the Tour de Germany. Next...I like Cippo. But based on his results so far...he isn't cutting it for a tour spot although his merits of the pre-season surely gain him the recognition and the spot to be there! Let's face it, there are a great deal of stage wins, a few classic wins, etc to earn him a spot even if he won't finish. Here's another interesting point. If Cippo gets his team in the tour...it will keep the number of early breakaways to a minimum because they will work like hell to keep the pack together for the sprint and a chance for cippo to get a stage win or early jersey...here's another point...without early breakaways...it might make for an easier race for armstrong when the hills hit...there is no one for him to have to run down or catch up time on. So, without cippo's team at the tour...there is more of a possibility for breakaways thus making Lance and Lance's team work harder for his tour...possibly...all speculation. Just another view.
peace and out

you forgot the most important one: less chances to win for sh*ty french teams, and that's what LeBlank doesn't wanna happen

Yep...no more Fignon or Hinault....so they are stuck waiting...and stacking the deck of cards against the other teams.
