Yikes! Impulse Purchase! Opinions Please....Brian T

I did the 'ole premature bid on eBay, don't quite know what I was thinking at the time, but I guess I let the auction continue in hopes that someone would out-bid me. Well, I actually won the thing! I'm scared, because the ad was kind of vague about the bike. All I know is: It's a 1998 model Bianchi with all Campy chorus on it "made to commemorate Marco Pantini" It has 500 miles on it. I can't make out anything else out from the picture (wheels, pedals, etc). Was this a good deal? I want to be a good eBayer and not re-nig on the deal--- but 750 bucks is a lot of money for this recent college graduate! Your .02 please!

It was in a local shop, and not for very long. All of the regulars thought it was a really cool looking ride and were happy when somebody we liked bought it and rode it. I don't remember what the asking price was. For me the value of a used bike is measured by the riding, more than the price.

... Bianchi made a few different "grades" of frame in this scheme... but if I remember correctly, all retailed new for at least $700 USD (frame and fork).

As long as both frame and fork are sound, you should have a very nice ride.

I bought this Mega L version in '98 (I think)... and only recently cut the fork and installed a Record headset! At this rate, the build will be done in 2010.

Be the bike.

Bianchi with Chorus, from a bike shop, with low miles, for $750 ! Hey, if it doesn't fit...sell it on Ebay yourself.

Because it happens to be in my size, I'm tempted to say that it's a real piece of junk and you got ripped off but "I'll take it off your hands...."

Looks like a very nice ride!
If it fits, I think you got a great deal...nmrwbadley
