2 weeks til Daytona trip...any good riding?hycobob

I'll be driving from Houston to Daytona in about 2 weeks and want to know if there are any midweek and weekend club rides near there. I thought about heading to the Merritt Island area on Saturday the 21st, kind of a Space City Texas vs. Space City Florida deal. I don't know if any of the space shuttles are visable from any ridable roadways but that would be cool to see...at least for a non-jaded out-of-stater like me. It would be a shame for me to be in the "Space City Cycling Club" and not ride with our cross country rivals.

If you are willing to drive a little bit, come over to Orlando and Lake Mary. Good Tuesday night and Friday morning rides in Lake Mary. Good Wednesday and Thursday night and Saturday and Sunday morning rides in Orlando. Check out http://www.windermereroadies.com for some more info.

Did you bother to read my reply to you about this last week? There are a lot of good rides and I told you where they are and who to talk to, but I am not typing it out again. If you ignored it, your loss, if you saw it, follow up on it.

I wasn't being an "jagoff" but thanks for noticing... I spent 20 plus minutes typing out the response to you the first time you asked the question. If you think I am being a jagoff for taking even more time out of my life to point out to you that I already tried to answer your question, then F-U you don't deserve the help!

Man, it's people like you on this board that make me wonder why I or anyone else goes out of their way to help someone out. What did I get for all my trouble, I got call a jagoff; and told that after you asked a question, which I wasted 20 minutes of my life answering, you tell me thanks, but I was too busy to even read the replies the first time I asked this. Did you model your screen name after Ty Cobb on purpose? You seem to share his attitude towards others.

Have fun in Daytona.. I was going to offer to come spend a weekend over there and go riding with you to show you some of the more fun routes to ride, and try to hook you up with the local cycling club so you might get a training race in, but I see how well my initial help was recieved.

The "jagoff" refers to your flame remark that you wouldn't type out another response. I'm sure you've asked questions more than one time before. FYI I got tied up in honey-do's and RBR forum questions just didn't seem as important as family harmony. Sorry if I offended. I'll still be in Port Orange June 17...2 days after spending a week in Moab; oh yeah. HyCO refers to Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide plant I work at. One blows you up and the other smothers you slowly...good stuff that you don't see coming. I made the mistake of answering the phone "HyCO, Bob" one day and it stuck.
Peace, Bob

Alright.. I got bent out of shape at the jagoff remark and my last reply showed it. But you definately misinturpreted my second reply. I was only saying look back a few days because it was a long reply that I don't want to type again. No more, no less. And what I went on to say was look it up (the back post) if you want to see what I told you, otherwise you are on your own. There was no flame anywhere in that. My last response, on the other hand, was me being pretty p.o'd. I figured I had wasted 20 minutes of my life trying to help out a random internet stranger who only has in common with me that we are both cyclists, and I was called a jagoff for my troubles. I think you can fully understand why that would make anyone mad who only tried to help another guy out.

Sorry I mistook the ty cobb reference.. that was my imagination getting the better of me while I was mad, but your story on your name is pretty funny. I like it.

Anyways, like I said in the other posts, take a look at the route I posted for you.. it's the best ride in that area, and look up some local shops and ask them if the wed. nite crit in Palm Coast still happens.

Have fun,

Russ
