After a 45 km ride there is a very slight twinge in my knees with my shorter cranks. With my previous longer cranks I'd feel it MUCH earlier and the pain would be more severe.

So I think the shorter cranks have definitely helped alleviate my knee problem (although it's not completely eliminated). Now I just have to strengthen my hamstrings and learn to spin better and hopefully things will improve even more.
