|I just got new shoes and I realized that I have always positioned the cleat under the ball of my foot. I am guessing there are pros and cons of having it further forward or further back. Can anyone help?
The shoes are used for mountain and road.

|When you say "cleat under the ball of my foot" I assume you mean so as to position the ball of your foot over the center of the pedal axle. This is the general position preferred by most. Those suffering hot spots often get relief by moving the cleat back, even though the hot spots may be due to flexy shoes.|| |
