There's a big invitational non-competitive ride in Chicago Sunday the 1st coming up and I was wondering if anybody was going and what I should expect. I've just recently gotten into the roadie thing after a few years in mountain riding and have never been to a mass ride like this before. I plan on doing the century. Do they have plentiful stops? Is it a pretty relaxed ride (10-15mph) or is it closer to 20mph for the whole ride. Just curious. Oh, and if anyone still wants to register late: http://www.mchenrybicycleclub.org/mcbc_main_page/main.htm
Posted this yesterday I'll be there. (nm)PEDDLEFOOT

I'd be prepared for some serious speed. Those McHenry county cyclist are speed nuts. They ride as fast as they can away from Cook County.

This will be like night & day comparing this ride in the country to Chicago. Like any large ride, you leave when you want(within reason), ride at your own pace or hook up w/ a group that suites your pace, and just have a good time. Many of the roads are in the area my own club rides and you'll love the rural setting.
