Cannondales Bankruptcy (Motorcycle division) has me concerned: Should I be? I'm in the market to buy a cyclocross bicycle and it's between Kona's "Jake the Snake" and Cannondale's XR1000 "Cyclocross Disc".. Let me hear your opinion.. THX.
Nope...bought by PegasusSpecialTater

who is restructuring and getting rid of their failed moto division. The bike group is apparently intact and making $$$. Pegasus is a well-known buyout firm specializing in turnarounds like this.
No worries...biknben

I wanted to buy a Scalpel 3000 since last fall. Yeah right. At this point I'll just wait until the '04's come out.

So now I go into my LBS and try to buy an R2000. Guess what? No R2000's in my size (52) anywhere. Called C'dale myself. No help.

It's tough to support a company with great products when you can't get the product. All of this mostly stems from vendors (Shimano, etc) not shipping parts on time since C'dale had been missing payments while they were figuring out bankruptcy. I think they have everything worked out, but there's still the catch up time. As a company, they'll be fine. If I were you, I'd buy the C'dale over the Kona every time.

Good luck.
