Is there a site online that I can enter two locations and it will tell you elevation gains and % slope?

I spent the weekend in Ouray, CO and wanted to know the elevation gain for my ride to Telluride.

Thanks

But good luck using them on a computer screen. It can be done, but it is tedious. You would have to spot two points on your route and find the contour lines that cross the route.

For about $100, you can buy topo maps on CD-rom for the whole US, from Topo USA or their competition. That would include an elevation-tracking tool that will do whole route profiles.

... Here's a website to bookmark, a way of making your own maps, or looking up data, from US Government databases:

With this, you can do "look up location" by state and city name, and it will give, among other things, the town's elevation. That returned 8792 ft for Telluride. From the other website, I looked up Ouray as around 7800 ft, so the climb was about 1000 ft, neglecting all the smaller ups and downs along the way, or any big ridges crossed.
