Does anybody know the Colnago C99 frameset. Can't find any info on the internet.

the C99 is a carbon fibre frame made by C4 an Italian bike company specialised in carbon bike frames. Their link is http://www.c4carbon.com/ (it's in Italian and in English). From the review of another C4 frame by an Italian magazine online (www.cycling.it) they mention the C99 as a very popular frame of C4, but, as you will see in the C4 web page, it doesn't seem to be in production any longer.

While C4 is actually only 8kms away from where I come from in Italy, I don't really know their products. My brother, who owns a bike shop, once told me off from buying a C4, but I think his is a prejudice based probably on earlier models of C4. The company has now been on business for about 15 years (or even more) and specialises in carbon fiber prodcts. If they had youth problems, I am pretty sure they have been resolved by now (we all know the failures of some very famous brands of XC mountainbikes, when they tried to build carbon frames about 6 to 7 years ago; now those problems are solved).

A full carbon frame for road biking is in my future projects, and, why not, I will consider C4 at that time (at least 2 years from now, as I just bought my first road bike...).

good luck. Hope this helps you a little.

The C95 (in 1995), C96 (in 1996) and C97 (in 1997)were entry level Colnagos made from Columbus Thron. Nice frames though heavy, I have a C96. I think for 1998 they renamed their lower level frames and I can't remember what they called what would have been the 98 and 99, possibly the Classic.
