Previously used a Shimano size 41, but after a while it stretched and became loose for me. I switched to DMT size 40, but that did not fit very well. I ended up with blisters on 2 toes and some pain on the bottom of my right foot. The fit was fine from foot length, but guess it was too tight and narrow at the toes. And the heel was not tight enough for me.
So i am trying Carnac Quartz now. Its either 41 or 40, and theres no 40.5 here. I was tolf the shoe will stretch, as its made of Kangaroo leather, and that something a bit tight now will be better. I tried the 41, it was kinda snug but a little loose length-wise. there was 1/2" freepspace in front of toes. The 40 was snug and tight, with little space in front. The heel was tight and gripped well, which I like.
I am wondering if these shoes will stretch and tus the 40 will be fine, although they are tight now. Does anyone have any feedback or suggestions? I was actually hoping to get Shimano 214 in size 40, but could not find them, and I also tried the Northwave Genetix size 39. The carnac retial for abt USD139 here...
How tight should new cycling shoes be? How do yuo guys get fitted?

|The shoes will stretch a bit width-wise, but not length-wise.
When I try on shoes, I make sure I have ridden my bike to the shop. Your feet expand when their warm during riding and they expand more when the weather is warm.
Some cycling socks are super thin, and others are regular thickness. If you have a bit of room on your shoes, you can make up for it with a bit thicker socks.
|Carnac sizes- try another store or have them order the 40.5||boneman|

|Carnac's are made in a 40.5 size. Find a decent store that either carries the size or will order the size for you to try. Many mail order houses, in order to carry less inventory, do not stock all the available sizes.|
