|A while back I posted a query about road bike rentals (or shops) in the Cape Town/Camps Bay area of SA and you responded that you might be able to dig up a lead/tel.# or something if necessary. I am calling in for the favor! I've searched the web pretty diligently in the interim and have come up with a bit fat zero. Anything that you could offer up would be greatly appreciated and I am, at this point, even considering buying something (the dollar is still pretty good down there) if the price was right and just shipping it back to the US before coming home. Thanks again.

|Shops that are close to Camps Bay:
Cycle lab (sea point) 021 434 7880
High street cycles (city) 021 914 933
Willie Engelbrecht 021 910 0623 http://www.willieengelbrecht.co.za/
City cycle lab club, Contact Steve Down: 021 434 4268
I have a friend that owns an airport transfer shuttle company, if you need rides around town. I would try the cycle lab boys.
I have a list of about 25 numbers but I am not sure where the shop is located, the ones I have listed I think are the closest to Camps Bay.

|If you plan on buying something: How about a custom frame in triple-butted alu with a carbon/kevlar rear triangle? Turnaround for frame mnfctr and paint about 2 weeks. There is a pro team in CT (CVT) using these frames and they ROCK. I've got one from the early production run - frame #3 - had it for 18mths and cannot fault the frame. And I've ridden bikes from the best in the world. Just nothing touches a custom job. Cost - frame alone - about $600 and NOTHING close in price/performance. Call Donald on CT (021) 556 1884, or go http://www.produx.co.za|
