Just received my 404's and rode 80 miles. Great aerodynamics, fast wheel. But, every road imperfection made my bike sound like it was going to fall apart. I thought maybe I had some loose spokes. Upon my return and inspection, I found these little carbon looking dust covers on the bearings. They are completly loose and rattle like a snake. I am returning them to my LBS for hopefully a fix. Has anyone else had this problem? and what was done about it?

I had the same problem with the rear cap. Take a 5 mm allen key, remove the endcap. You will find that the carbon piece is held in place with a rubber O-ring held in place by a groove underneath, in turn. Reset/push up the O-ring and retorque to 88 in/lbs.
P.S.: Do you have any play in your hubs? This will be more noticable as you lift up th bike and move the tire side-to-side? please, let me know if you do, as I have that problem on my new set.

Thanks for the advice. I called Zipp's 800 line and was told the same thing. I did the repair last night, hope it is not a reocurring incident. I forgot to check for play in my wheels last night. I will check later a repost here. My wheels spinup quite nicely but the freewheel is LOUD, solution, don't coast.
