From Graham Watson site: The peloton was taking it so easy, the early break had time to stop at a coffee shop for an espresso and then still catch up. This is funny and shows the difference in attitude between the Giro and the Tour.

I am reading a great TdF history book right now that has some amazing goings on in the Peloton. One of the funnier was the practices of riders would be swooping in on a Cafe and cleaining out the goods.

The owner would then bill the Tour.

I love those photoes. Stopping at a coffee shop sounds like one of my rides. Nothing like an espresso at the 90km mark to give you a boost - afterall - caffeine is OK in low doses!

interesting, this. note the difference in shoulder widths, handlebars, height, frame size, etc.

no surprise which one excels at what.

btw, what's Cipo doing with his left hand?
That Giro is really getting out of control. nmBruno S
