There are so many road tires out there, how do I know which ones are good for racing? I was looking on Nashbar and they have some 78 tires to pick from, just for road. What are some nice road racing/riding tires that Nashbar offers? I want to get a set of tires that are better then my cheap stock ones, but do not want to break the bank. What can you tell me?

Thank you.

Check out the Michelin Axial Pro Race or Axial Carbon. The Pro Race corners slightly better and slightly less rolling resistance and less puncture resistance but I've been riding/racing with the Carbons lately with no complaints. The Pro Race is more prone to getting cuts so if you're riding through gravel on roads, etc. might want a beefier sidewall.

Found the Pro Race at a good price here:

good luck,
