|Flitedeck 6501 Stopwatch Mode Question||BaadDawg|

|I have one function on my Flitedeck 6501 that either I can't figure out or is pretty crappy design. That is the stopwatch mode.
I know how to activate it, can see the elapsed time from mode changes while on the hoods, but cannot see distances, time elapsed, etc. without pressing the button underneath the head unit (switch B). Not being able to see this info from the hoods makes it pretty useless.
Am I missing something or is this just one if its quirks?

|Hold down the button on the right hood for 2 seconds and I think that the mode will switch to the distance, time, etc set of displays but the stopwatch will continue to run. Hold the button the right hood for another 2 seconds, and you will switch back to the stopwatch mode.
I'm no expert, but I hope that works.

|Nope holding the right hood button for 2 seconds always changes from Mode A to Mode B.
I am almost certain unless someone can show me otherwise that the only way to view stopwatch info other than time elapsed is by holding down the B switch underneath the head unit for 2 seconds. Then you see the interval distances, speeds etc.
Very useless not being able to do this from the hoods.

|You shouldn't have to be pressing the B button.
a) The Right-hood button is the Mode selector.
b) The Left-hood button is the ST/SP (Start/Stop) activator.
Press the Right-hood button:
1) 2 seconds to switch from Mode 1 to Mode 2, etc.
2) Once to scroll through the functions of the Mode (either 1 or 2).
Read pages 11 and 5 of the Manual: http://psycle-therapy.great-ride.com/shimano_flight_deck_6501_instruc.htm

|I am pretty certain that you can only view the stopwatch data other than time elapsed data like stopwatch distance, average and max speeds by pushing the B switch underneath the head unit. Holding the right button 2 seconds shile in SW mode just toggels out of mode 1 and into mode 2. Holding the right button for 2 seconds regardless of the mode changes from mode 1 to 2 or vice versa.
The manual on page 11 is pretty clear thats its switch B to get the screens you see at the bottom of the page. Switch B is underneath the unit on the right side.

|I just tested my 6501 and the only thing you & I agree on is: if you hold the right button down for 2 seconds, it will toggle back and forth from Mode 1 to Mode 2 to Mode 1, and so on. The only time I ever touch the B button is when I'm turning the unit on to begin the ride, then never !!
1) Put the unit on the bike-mount.
2) Hold Right button for 2 seconds to switch to Mode 2.
3) Click Right button to scroll to SW.
4) Click Left button to start SW.
5) Click Right button (once) to scroll to each function in Mode 1.
If this doesn't work, then they have changed the programming...
I hope it works for you....if not maybe we can communicate better via email?
