the reviews say you need longer screws than what are supplied. Totalcycling.com says you need an Sidi SPD adapter kit. Anyone clear clear this up?

2 out of three bolts "pretty much" are long enough.

I did NOT use an adaptor plate, since the SLs are drilled with the Look bolt pattern- and are "plug and play"

I did take a few "old" longer bolts from my SPD-R cleats for the inner bolts. The issue is that SIDIs have a recessed area for the cleat adaptors- and since the cleat bolt pattern is a triangle, and due to the odd shape of the recessed area, ONE leg of the trianble will be outside the recessed area and will require a slightly longer bolt.

You do NOT need to pay extra money for a SPD adaptor kit unless you are using SPD-R cleats. Totalcycling probably hasn't updated their site in awhile.

I have regular spds with my Sidis and used the spd adapter without problems.
