|I have a Klein Quantum Race that's been in storage for the last month or so. Unfortunately I also have a Topeak frame pump that was still attached to my top tube. The bike was stored at room temperature out of direct sunlight.
My problem is that now I have a nice brownish grey ring around my top tube where the frame pump was attached. It looks like the rubber attachment permanently stained my paint job. I have the Klein silver cloud paint job (silver fading to white), so the stain is very visible.
Has anyone ever heard of this happening? I doubt there's anything I can do, but I'm open to suggestions. The pump is only about 2 years old, and all looks to be in good condition.
On the bright side, I don't see the stain as long as my pump is attached.

|Have you tried automotive rubbing compound? I manage an Auto Dealership detail shop, my guys can remove some fairly serious looking paint defects with compound, give it a shot. Worse comes to worse, put a little paint thinner on a rag and try working at it that way.|| |
