And the name Shimano is comprised of two negative words, surely a plot to them look bad.

Shim; a quick fix in carpenters lingo to make a correction to something that is out of square and etc...; well, any of guys know quite well what that word means...
Actually Shimano is a ancient sammurai word for...the bull

Campy shifters needing spring replacements than Dura Ace shifter problems at my LBS. The Campy springs suck and if any of you guys know what you are talking about, then you know what I mean.
I still don't get the whole "Campy lasts forever" thing. The only thing I needed to replace on my 1997 Litespeed was the casstte and chain and a chainring. Shifters, brakes and deraileurs do not wear out. Go look at a Colorado Cyclist catalog and look at Shimano and Campy side by side. I assure you that the Campy doesn't exhibit "soul" and "history". It all looks the same, they are parts of a whole. You are idiots if you interpret anything else into it. Drop this topic already.

Hey dope. When Shimano went from 8sp to 9sp what did you have to do? When Campy went 10sp the debate of the mass' was "do we really need 10sp", well now Shimano has jumped on the band wagon the mass' now chatter how great that is. What will those suckers have to do to go to 10sp?
Every time Shimano makes a move to keep up with the inustry leader you dopes have to buy a new group. Oh your right you can keep your brakes.
Campy should ad a cog a year for a few years to bankrupt the Shimano suckers.

Hey Mate,

Perhaps you should change your name to Mr. Magoo - You have all his foresight but none of his good intentions.

Happy DA user.

Wow, I feel like a downright moron. I am ashamed to say that I had once thought both shimano and campagnolo made nice stuff. Now all I have to do is find out which one sucks, and then I'll be smart again.

Your right this is childish. We see this question so often, on occassion I enjoy childishly starting a flame war. I appologize to the guy who is really looking for an answer. But I still maintain I'd rather die than put MTB bar ends on my road bike. Let me look into the future, Shimano will come out with a new MTB shifting system, it will look a heck of alot like STI's and mount on the ends of the bars.
In the future we will have ...the bull
