Shimano and Campagnolo Merger

The two largest manufacturers of bicycle components announced plans that the two companies would merge. Company executives openly were excited about the plans and one Vice President announced "This merger will allow us to repeatedly rape cyclists across the entire world like they were Playboy bunnies tied to bedposts. By using Campagnolo's exorbitant price schedule and Shimano's short life span our new products will be more expensive and not last as long. All the expensive items will have a guarantee of being lightweight and race ready to further boost sales."

The meetings lasted over three months to work out the details. The biggest issue negotiated was to determine if the Campagnolo design engineers were willing to have those shift cables sticking out the side of the shifters making the bike look like it had cat whiskers. Shimano was concerned about chain sales and wanted Campagnolo to agree to a new proprietary design to eliminate competition from SRAM and Sachs. They noted the splined bottom bracket "really screwed the other guys so we know this will work"

As the final details were being completed the whole process exploded during a luncheon. Campagnolo insisted on planning the menu without Shimano. The two sides negotiated on the main entrée and decided upon stir fried squid in a basil and sesame soy sauce over noodles. Shimano chefs became infuriated when the menu read "Calamari in a light sauce served over linguine."

You forgot to mention that they intend to intergrate Shimanos lack of up grade ability. That will be a significant sales booster.
