Bike fit == saddle comfort?c722061

I just bought Fizik Alliante TI and put it on my aluminum bike yesterday, very happy. I went out for 40 mile ride with ave. 18mph, after more than 2 hours I felt no discomfort whatsoever. I have gone through 4 different light weight (<300gm) and always sufferred numbness, pain in inner thighs.

I would say this is the smartest purchase I have done in recent years. I could have bought 2 Fizik with the money shelled out for the others 4. so, let's see how long the saddle last for me.

My husband has also had a lot of trouble finding a comfortable saddle (numb nuts syndrome)and recently bought a Fizik Aliante. We just got back from a training camp in Majorca, and after riding hard every day for a week, he said the saddle was superbly comfortable...

I have a theory that the simple fact that I try something different, it makes a difference simply because it IS different. I've had a "honeymoon period" with each new saddle I've tried. I'm currently on an SLR- which fits perfectly, and find that if I wear bibs with a different type of pad on each ride, it takes the soreness "memory" away from my butt. I've found that the problems I have had were related to setup (seat angle and height mostly- and associated changes from new cleat/pedals, etc...).

I have several shorts from really cheap to expensive ones. Yesterday I tried with the thinest padding short which usually did not keep me comfort after 1 hour ride. With that short on new Fizik, no problem. I did not have to tilt this saddle, just kept it flat and already it is working for me.

of a cyclist! Hope the marriage lasts and lasts. I find I prefer thinner padding when the saddle fits me.

I am breaking in a Brooks team pro and am discovering completely new - to me - aspects to how a saddle ought to fit. This thing fits just right. amazing
