Not too high! More like a Big Hill. Think it is around 2,500 ft.

How much altitude gain is there when riding up from Stinson beach? Anybody got an altimeter?

Assuming there are no major altitude lases on the climb (depending on your route), it's somewhere less than 2,500 feet. The road does not quite start at sea level, and ends a couple of hundred vertical feet shy of the summit.
