Add me to the list of those who had a bad day...Fez

Dust and pollen really hurt me today. I take allergy medicine, so usually I not bothered by spring riding conditions. However, there were so many airborne particles out there that my eyes had dust particles in them the entire ride. After my eyes would clear up, new particles would soon irritate them again. So I pretty much had to deal with foreign matter in both eyes for the entire ride.

And I was breathing in so much dust and pollen that I would cough and almost choke, even though I would stop for a sip of water periodically.

We hear about the Code Red days with high ozone and other pollutants, but I think today's riding conditions were far worse than anything I had seen before.

... I don't generally suffer allergic reactions to dust and pollens, but occasionally (I have no reasons why... it's so rare, it might be a reaction to a very specific trigger) I've succumbed big time (to the point of gasping for breath at 5 mph)... Anymore, I carry a couple Sudafed or Benadryl just in case...

Be the bike.

I have to resort to Zyrtec, Flovent, Albuterol, and eyedrops this time of the year for trees and grasses. Next week, I leave for a month-long vacation to areas on this planet where I can stop taking this stuff.
Allergic reaction was not the problem, its just the amountFez

of particles floating in the air.

There was so much out there that my eyes would just catch a new particle every few minutes. And my throat was clogged with dust, causing me to choke and cough several times until I could take a swig of water.

And this was pretty much the entire ride, which covered tree lined areas and open areas.

It actually wasn't that bad during cherry blossom season. Its much worse now.

My eyes have been killing me. I think this year is worse than others, at least in upstate NY. Claritin and eye drops aren't helping much.
