|Best chain for old twist-tooth, Dura Ace 7-speed? IG/HG?||BergMann|

|I've got an older bike that's still running 7-speed Dura Ace. I recently replaced the freewheel, but my old Rohloff chain is shot.
The Rohloff is an 8-speed chain, and I'd go with another, but they're unreasonably pricey in the US (used to get em discounted at the Kassel factory).
Is anyone else out there still running twist-tooth DA 7-speed freewheels? If so, which chains would you recommend?
IG or HG90, Sachs/Sram PC58, Wipperman Connex?

|wasn't it HG until 7spd, then IG for 8spd, then HG again 9spd ? I think you can read all the story on Sheldon Brown's website.
In any case, if you need that kind of stuff, I have an IG-31 chain sitting doing nothing in my closet. Very good condition, and I know for sure that it is an 8spd. Don't know if it works as well 7spd. Sized for a mtb so it should fit on a road bike.

|I would definitely go with a SRAM. They shift well, are quiet, and the 8s are eary to join the conventional way, without the use of connex links. I never saw a SRAM break, but I have seen a lot of Shimano chains fail. Get the widest one you can find for a 7s.|
|What's the matter? Are Connex links on the SRAMs unreliable? nm||BergMann|
