|The last couple of threads regarding Coast getting suspended again, got me thinking. What is up with Jan?
In general, I like him as far as racers go, but what I don't get is that this being his "comeback" year, why did he demand top dollar from Coast, when it seems like his plan is to take it easy and uhhh....COAST through this season? Seems like I read somewhere that he doesn't have any real expectations for a high finish in the Tour this year, and I don't recall reading any other goals he has. Hamilton maybe? (not Tyler, the one in Canada)
If he's going to ask for the big bucks, doesn't he owe it to his sponsors to give a full effort? Then again, if they aren't gonna pay him, who cares.
Is he just greedy, or is he just trying to throw the media dogs off the scent by pretending to have no aspirations for this year, so that the pressure is off of him.
Something isn't adding up. What do you think?

|the sticking point with CSC was that they wouldn't hire his entourage, as well.
Also there's a difference between not giving a full effort and not thinking your full effort will be adequate to make you a tour contender after a year off the bike.
Yes, he said earlier in the year that he felt that by the end of the year he might be in good enough condition to contest the Vuelta and important one-day races.

|They've had him on a leash in the DDR since a young age, time to grow up. Let him loose for one winter and look what happens.|

|And now that I think about it, I can't see it being the Rudy and Bjarne show. I can't see Rudy letting go of the reigns on his cash cow that easily.|

|Here in Europe Ullrich is worth the money for his sponsors if he only sits on his ass! |
When he had that accident one of his sponsors made a commercial with him the message was:"You might fall on your face but you have to get up again ...."
It doesn't matter what he does - he is always worth his money! He stayed nice and to the public he still seems humble and well behaved!
I said that before here - Ullrich gets respect in Europe and that is the most important thing is the old cycling world!
