|you have nothing to say, being nothing but a pile of cliches. in seven easy rules: |
#1- insult. call others "stupid"
#2- show pictures o your bike in front of books. science, psychology..
#3- pretend to be a "doctor"(this is ridiculous since no one is interested in degrees here but hey, it's internet. what have you got to lose besides your time? you are not working too much anyway, right?)
#4- show knowledge of pop icons. "spike jonze is a genius".
#5- repeat media cliches: "spike jonze is a genius"
#6- provoke. be controversial. call BS every little thing people love. campy tradition is BS.
#7-try to prove your argument with misinformation like "even campy fans know shimano is better" mixed with arrogant rationalization that means nothing.

|If you don't like what someone is blabing, just ignore it. Let's not start another "I hate Nick" thread.
If someone wants to be a boob, let'em.

|First, I am not a doctor nor purported to be although I have graduate degrees (Master's). Secondly, I took off from work today just to bother you. As far as Spike Jonze goes, did you like Being John Malkovich????? Or the Beastie Boys Sabatoge video???? I did, and he has been consistently good. POP Icon??? That is a misnomer because 9 out of 10 people don't even know who he is. (Except you because you are so young and hip). I never said Shimano was better. Read more carefully there my son. You are not as clever as you think. LMAO|

|The no personal attacks rule applies to everyone. This has no cycling content, is certainly a personal attack, but I'll probably catch hell if I deleted it, wouldn't I?
The consensus on the Nick thread was to hold off until the victim complains. However, I don't want this turning into a flame war between anyone, even if Lazy doesn't complain. From what I know, he'd be more than happy to throw some fuel on the fire rather than complain.
So, I'll hold off for now, but if this gets out of control, it's gone, folks.

|Does this all have to do with the Campy/lamp thread?
Actually, (and while lazy needs no help defending himself) I had to agree with the principle of his thread below. If Campy manufactured the exact same product it builds now after it was purchased by, let's say, Giant, and production facilities were moved to Asia- and again it is EXACTLY SAME, I'm sure many people (like the "campy-only" fanatics) would arbitrarily believe there was a severe loss in quality, and parts would be advertised on ebay as being "pre-Giant" Campy.
Frankly, I've seen much more arrogance and "anti-ShimaNO" sentiments in the Campy camp. It is like all the Trek or Litespeed bashing that goes on.
Colker- have a sense of humor. Lazy is harmless.
BTW- Spike Jonze IS a genius...

|You actually "get it". I know that even though I come across as an a$$hole, I am reasonable in my arguments. You hit it on the head about Campy and where it is manufactured. The analogy of Italian automobiles still holds true in my book. Italian cars have historically been pieces of sh$# but they perpetuate this image and therefore people put up with the reliability issues.
My Litespeeds are every bit as well made (if not better than any Italian frame, but people want to buy into an image. I can respect that if they just admit that is part of the appeal and not some inherent superiority of the product because it is made in Italy where there happens to be a long bike heritage.
The CampyOnly website is just pathetic. These guys spend their time making up jingles and all kinds of bizarre dork-like phrases about Shimano. They are components but they literally look at it like religion. I have a Fondriest which is a fine bike and I have owned Scapin and Bottechia. None are "better" than my Litespeed or the Treks I have owned. Plus if given the choice, I will always support an american company and I am not a rifle toting hillbilly.
Spike Jonze is a genius. If colker wants to argue to the contrary, then he can look silly if he wants.

|on the theme of the prowess(or lack thereof) of Italian manufacturing, I was told something at a Honda dealer the other day. "Ride Japanese, dress Italian", not the other way around! ;)|
