|ok, i wrote this in about 15 mintues for an English lab. never written a poem before. guys over at the bicycling forums are too busy arguing over petty crap, and it dropped like a rock- so i thought i'd post it here. make fun if you like- here it goes:
Embrace the pain
Quads, glutes, and calves burning
We ride, shine or rain
Headwinds our enemy, tailwinds our ally
We ride, not an inch of our body dry.
Take a turn at the front, paceline screaming
Move to the rear, watch it reform
Granted a break, you feel like you're dreaming
As you move to the front, the pain is reborn.
The end is in sight
Riders push through the traffic, jockeying for position
We gun for the line, each wanting the victory
Finally over, agony in remission
The winner salutes, the ride is history.
|I like the phrase "agony in remission." Do you enjoy writing? (nm)||Gregory Taylor|
