Cure For Upper That Digs In?nicholasdunford

I findly found a pair of shoes that fit. They are Pearl Izumi Vagabonds. The only problem is that the upper digs into the top of my foot at the tongue area. I am hesitant to return the shoes because I have had no luck with any other shoes on the market (still need to try diadora, but no one carries them). Is there any simple cures for my upper problem that could save me the return? Any ideas would be appreciated.

My crticism of them is that the upper is too roomy. I have to cinch down the straps to hold them tight against my foot. The identical size in Specialized fits well for me. Might be worth the online purchase / return if you don't like them expense to try them.
Sidis have a wide strap on top, with the buckle. nmSpunout
