i have crohns disease and i guesss i had a little more than a flare up yesterday...... found myself in the emergency room on all kinds of great narcotics. partial obstruction and micro-perforation of the small intestine. here for 4-5 days. loving wife brought laptop and velo news. but not my bike!!!!! 8) hard to believe i was just riding on monday...... thought i'd say hi and ask you guys to pound out a couple extra miles for me. but turn your heart-rate monitors off, and just look around and enjoy the scenery..... never know when you might be off the bike for medical reasons. thanx!!!

We take so much for granted. I try to make at least one ride a week a smell the roses affair.
Keep your motivation alive.

Yes, get well soon. I was in the hospital last year after a crash cause a fractured hip. Fortunately I somehow ended up with a private room. Didn't help much at night though - some lady down the hall would moan all night. Hospitals suck.

Stay motivated, and stay patient. I was admitted to hospital after a bike crash in March this year (broke my hip). I was so pissed off, with myself, as to not being able to get back on the bike and ride. I have been out of hospital for 10 weeks now, and have just got on to the bike ( I have set it up on a trainer ) on very light resistance. I am not allowed to get on the road yet. But I got through it by being motivated, and having people around that reckon you will get through it and you will be OK. I agree with you, though, sometimes we forget how lucky we are, BUT we should realise this before we are admitted to hospital. The internet is a good thing, and at least you have access to it from hospital.. This is also another way of staying motivated.. Do not read too much about your illness, on the internet.. Let the doctors advise.. DO not believe everything you read.. You must maintain a positive outlook.
Good luck to you.Charlie Amerique

We'll try to keep posting motivational ride reports and pictures (we'll even pose for some of them).

You're very lucky to have a wife who will brign you the things you need ot stay motivated as well (now, jsut get her to smuggle in your bike and a trainer).

bonne chance
Wishing you a speedy recovery - stay positive and motiviated! nmjtferraro
