SPD-R Pedals - need help adjusting(3 posts)

SPD-R Pedals - need help adjustingFender
May 8, 2003 9:49 AM
I recently bought a pair of Ritchy SPD-R pedals. My left foot can engage quite easily and release easily as well, but my right foot is extremely hard to click in or out. This becomes scary when I pull up to a stop light and can't unclip my left foot (occasionally happens). Both pedals are on the lowest tension. I've also lubed the springs and that did not help.

I have noticed black cicle, not quite sure what that does though. It can be adjusted witha 2-3mm allen key.

what type of spd-r do you have?
the problem you described is well known for 535, 6600, 7700.
i have faced it myself.
try to file on the clamps to make them edges smoother.
or you buy new 6601, 7701.
coating and a little clamp redesign make clipping in and out as easy as look pedals.
or just adjust themfiltersweep

Loosen the hex nut... that is what it is for.
