... I wear a size 49 Sidi, and it feels quite comfy and roomy with all pigs aboard... but I was wondering if... (and I know that this will probably elicit nothing more than subjective opinions)... anyone had/has every bopped 'tween 49 and 48? Just how big a diff do you think a size (Euro) would be (would I have to let some of the piggies go free?)

Akira, I float between 45 and 46 within the same brand as well as different brands. I really think you need to try shoes on and not just order your size. The main reason I don't mail order shoes. I want to make certain my little piggies like what I buy.
So it boils down to this... size Does matter ... nmrwbadley

Why the guesswork? Are you buying some SIDIs online?

That great deal won't be so great if you have to pay for return postage, or decide to tough it out and use them awhile before you decide they are torture/don't fit, then sell them at a loss as used on ebay (thereby wasting money trying to save money).

To me, a full size SIDI made all the difference in the world. Despite the large numbers, they really don't seem to function as half sizes, though the conversion is something of a mystery-

It might just be me, but I'm much more intolerant of ill-fitting cycling shoes than, say, Sunday shoes ;)

Seriously, I'd do everything you can to take the guesswork out of the situation.

... at size 49, it's rare to walk into a local shop (and on many catalog/online sources) and find them on hand...

I've got four pair of Sidi now... and am comfortable enough with said to order another pair of 49's without doubt... and, I remember trying on a pair of 48 a couple years ago (tighter confines, but not overtly uncomfortable)... but I've never actually ridden in them... but this might be the answer for my own question... I've recently developed a chronic condition that causes swelling in one lower extremity... perhaps I should just work a bit harder to find my 49's.

Which lower extremity would that be? (nm)53T
