well the question is.. which road shoe is better and worth the money? i race road and currently used a pair of old sidi's... they are nice but they are worning out.. so its about time to get some new stuff.. i got it down to the new Sidi ergo carbon, dmt ultimx, new nike poggio 2, and the shimano dura ace shoe( the silver one).. they are all very nice and uses carbon plates for stiffness and weight reduction.. but which pair is better. i have a pair of shimano mtn show w/ carbon plate and im happy with 'em considered i race a lot and im still growing.... any suggestion would help. thanks

It's not a matter of what I think, with shoes it's a matter of what fits you properly. I've been riding Carnac Elipse and Pearl Izumi Vapers and like them both. Try on all that you are interested in and buy the one that is most comforatable and fits the best. Just because I or some else like's it, doesn't mean it's the best shoe for you.
If the Sidi's fit you well, stick with SidiMR_GRUMPY

If you are happy with the fit of the Shimano MTN shoes, the road one will fit also. The R214 is a pretty nice shoe. I use a pair of R210 for training and a pair of R211 to race on. The R210's are so old and so beat, I've had to epoxy the soles back on to the uppers. They are 7 or 8 years old, and still holding up. They must have 50,000 miles on them.
