|Any suggestions on bicycling in Italy this June? Where to go? I'm looking for easy to moderate terrain because I'm recovering from a knee injury. Any comments on Piedmont or the Bologna area?|

|for Piedmonte, anywhere around the Barolo region. You can't go wrong. All the roads are incredible, but yes, it is a bit hilly. There will be some flatter rides down toward Alba, but it is a bit more industrial with heavier traffic. Can't help with Bologna, though I have done a lot of riding around Florence (also nice, but again, more traffic).|

|I had a snowboarding accident this past winter and had knee surgery on 3/11. I've since learned so much about knee anatomy and am interested in how you were injured and if you had to have any surgery?

|I didn't need surgery, but I do alot of stretches, which has helped to build up the muscles and compensate for the problem, which is that my patela(sp) doesn't track correctly.|

|Both Tuscany and Umbria are stunningly beautiful and if you stick to the smaller roads there are many lovely rides with moderate climbing. I was there last year. With a good map you can find out all the hills and valleys you want.
