|We are a Specialized dealer and have not seen any similar failures. In any case, Specialized has been very good with us on warranty issues. If Specialized turns down your warranty claim, it is probably based on your shop's recommendation. If your shop is supporting you, odds are very good that Specialized will replace the frame.

|actually, i have to tip my hat to the guys in my local specialized shop....i have been informed that i will be getting a 2003 E5 s-works in aqua-simon colors(zebra stripe)
i must say that i have heard of some braking at that spot, and it might not be alot of them, but being a research machinist for over 20 years, putting a counter bore for a screw in that spot greatly reduced the material there and a
potential for failure...and i weigh in at 220# where a 150# rider might not encounter a problem at all...above all i loved the way that frame rode and my hat goes off to specialized also...i just hope the E5 rides just as nice and i am sure it will.
