I haven't riden much. It only rains on the days that I'm free to ride! So far I only get a mild ache the day after a ride. I found a ortho specialist who looks great. She's just came to Chicago and has worked at one of the olympic centers. She specializes in womens biomechanical issues and knees injuries and is in-network. How cool is that? But I decided to hold off for now. I want to see if the pain is going to get any worse. If it doesn't, no need to give away more $$$'s.
Oh and thanks for asking. nmKristin

Is it possible to get the Dr.'s info. ? My girlfriend has been experiencing a fair amount of pain in her right knee from training and has since ceased riding for about 3 weeks. She felt fine and started to ride again. After about 15 miles, it started to hurt. She said more so when she put pressure on the peddling down stroke than just spinning. We live in the Chicago area and any recommendation on this type of specialist would be great.

Hi - I'm Melissa, the girlfriend with the aggravating knee. Thanks for the referral - I read the Doc's bio & she sounds great. I actually graduated from her same undergrad school (UW-LaCrosse). Sounds like I am taking the same approach as you are - wait it out a bit. I'm trying to slowly increase mileage and so far only 20 miles is about my max before it hurts. Good luck.
"I found a ortho specialist who looks great." Is she married?bic
