Are there any potential shifting problems in substituting a 39 tooth ring made for a double for the 42 tooth ring of a triple. The group is 105 and they don't make a 39 for a triple for this group.
Sort of worksLC

It will shift, but not as well as the ring made for a triple. It sometimes takes a while for it to catch and you have to ease up on the pedels even more for the shift.

39 from doubles doesn't have shift ramps and will shift like crap. You may consider DA but you'd have to file it to fit
