Quick question for you experienced blokes...I did 2x15 minute muscle tension intervals where I kept the rpms in the ~65 range and then finished off with 7 minutes more since I was still had something left, with about 10 minutes rest in between...took about an hour to do.

Anyway, to the point, I then did a fast group ride the next day...it was pouring cats and dogs...so there was only 5 of us yesterday and the pace was around 24 mph and I was holding on for dear life...this is a ride that I normally have to put some serious concentration and effort into but I am never "holding on for dear life"...is the effect of a tough muslce tension interval day the prior that dramatic in a drop in performance?

Thanks.

That kind of session would really rip up your muscle and generally people would do a light-ish ride the day after i.e. a fit person would be allowing themselves 2 days recovery.

Rich.

After some workouts, depending on my condition and rides before that, too, power and be down 50% it seems. Not unusual. Cold and wet will slow you, too.
