I got tired of being ripped off(IMHO) buying overpriced cycling designed lubes and went down to the local auto parts store(Autozone) to see what they had. Bought the Slick 50 12 oz. can for $1.99. This stuff works great as long as you don't overspray the chain. It lasts and lasts and lasts.
Dura-lube is good toospeedisgood

And I've also been trying the air tool oil. I think they all work about the same. Way cheaper than the boutique stuff so you can afford to sluice it on often w/o spending an arm and a leg. The other type of lube I've tried is industrial chain lube which lasts forever and is great for wet riding but it gets gummy. Good for the commuter and winter bikes.

It made a mess of my chain and was a bear to get off. I don't believe the hype that it binds to the chain like a plastic coating.

...and Rock and Roll Lube Gold. Good stuff. I've been using Prolink, but I've switched to Rock and Roll on the "good" bikes.
