Does anyone have any experience, knowledge, or reviews of the new Columbus XLR8R Carbon Tubing? Cyfac is using the tubes for their custom carbon bike.

Thanks!

In my opinion it is stylistic and thats about it. Basically, you have carbon with aluminum ends, alowing frame builders to make carbon frames without having to work with carbon itself. Just weld the aluminum ends together, bond in the carbon, and there it is. Shapes of the tubes dont make much sense either, not actually aero, and the wheel cut out on the down tube is pretty far away from the wheel. Columbus is getting artsy, if you ask me. Just get a carbon frame frome somebody who knows how to do carbon.
