|I presently own an 01 Lemond Zurich Reynolds 853 (awesome, light, stiff steel bike) and love the bike. I went to my LBS and they have an 01 Lemond Victoire Titanium in my size selling for $2000. Should I sell the Zurich and go with the Ti or keep the steel bike? How much do you think I could get for the Zurich? (it's in perfect condition)|

|so, You have an 'awesome' bike, which you 'love'. Why blow money on a different bike?|

|Owned a '99 Lemond Zurich which I loved.
To help fund my wedding, I sold it. After months of reminding my wife how much I "sacraficed" to fund our wedding (she convinced me that we had to get married at a location that was more than we could afford, had to serve this particular champagne, hire this "too expensive" photographer), she finally told me I could get another bike.
I eyed the new paint schemes on the Lemonds, watched for the endless sales at Supergo, eyed Ebay and monitored the classifeds on this board. Finally, an '02 Victoire popped up with Mavic Ksyriums for $1800.
Bought the bike and now love this one. Is it so much better than the Zurich? Handles fairly the same. The chi-chi factor of owning a Ti bike is a definite benefit. Will you climb faster or ride better with the Ti? Probably not but you'll "feel" faster. It is a beautiful bike and the 01 with the black panels looks pretty sharp. Not having to worry about paint chips, rust, etc. $2000 sounds like a great price for a new Victoire. Would I do it? Hell, if I could get a good price for the Zurich and didn't have a wife to answer to, probably.
From what I've seen, used Zurich's have been selling anywhere from $800 to $1200, depending on condition. Not many people have local access to Supergo who is giving away new '02's for $1299. Good luck in your decision.
