The regular Prince, not LS with the bent fork. Blue Prince v. Black P4 carbon at about the same price. Which do you prefer?

Currently my LBS has the Prince SL (Record, Hyperion) in stock and on sale for US$7000. It is on a league of its own when compared to the Litespeeds and Merckxs that are next to it. I would go for the Pinarello.
I believe those were the limited edition black Prince LS,elviento

but the currently ones are mass produced with the bent seatstays and fork at $2700 retail for frame.

But then again i am looking at the regular Prince with slightly heavier tubing and regular shaped fork. It's the third highest model in Pinarello's lineup, below the Dogma and the Prince LS.

Yes, all black with carbon fiber fork, seatstays, seatpost, handlebar and cranks. Even the hubs and rim breaking surfaces are carbon fiber. Black chainrings with white Pinarello name and logo engraved on them.

A friend just bought the P4 from Colorado Cyclist built up with DA for ~$2,600. Not sure why they knocked another $600 off the sale price of ~$3,200 (I'll have to get the whole story), but at $2,600 the P4 sure seems like a good deal.

Can I get your friend's e-mail?elviento

I recently bought a Fondriest and I'm long time Pinarello owner. They're both great bikes. However, having had my hands and eyes on the two you're considering, I'd go with the P4 based on sex appeal alone.

The Prince is a stiff, light race bike. But then so is the P4. You may see a difference in ride quality, but that's so subjective and I'm personally in the camp of "all $2000+ frames ride about the same."

That deal at CC is beckoning me too.

At near the price I've seen the P4 at, I'll take a Calfee custom or dig a bit deeper for a Parlee.
