|I tried replacing two broken spokes & truing the wheel. Things looked to be going ok & when I notice that my wheel has two big waves in it. I expect the spokes must have unwound (I didn't oil as I was working in the family room & things were going pretty easily). This is a steel rim which I've tried loosing the tension & no luck so far. Should I completely loosen the tension or junk the rim?
This is an old Peugeot & if I need a new wheel I was thinking of picking up an old bike so I'd have matching wheels. I also thought that I might get a 6-speed out of the bargin. Is this a good idea or will I eventually end up where I am now? I'm interested to hear what you think!

|What you describe is easily a $30-$50 garage sale bike. I wouldnt even consider replacing the wheel, replace the bike instead.|| |
