|Armstrong attitude in L-B-L... (spoiler)||Bruno S|
Apr 28, 2003 7:46 AM
|Why he didn't give a post race interview? The guy finishes the race, hops into his plane and flies back to Spain. Everybody else seemed to have time for a short comment. I mean, an American just won L-B-L for the first time and it happens to be his close friend and faithful ex-domestique. What's up with the his attitude? Johan, as is becoming usual, had to comment about the race in his behalf.|

|...he wanted to get home to his wife and family. They're back together now.
...he wanted to let his close friend and faithful ex-domestique (trying to avoid a spoiler here) to be the focus of attention for the day. Personally I think it would be very classy if gave Tyler a wave or a nod and slipped out the back door on this particular day. I don't know if he did that, but that would be classy in my book.

|If a person doesn't want to know who won L-B-L for whatever reason, I think that a good idea would be to, oh, I don't know, avoid cycling message boards maybe? ;) Just a thought.
p.s. Tyler Hamilton won!!!
|Agree. Don't want to see? Don't look. nm||Spunout|

|Just state "Spoiler Inside." If you don't want to know, then you can just keep reading all the other posts. Sure its not that simple. But just a thought.|

|This is beyond argument. Forum Guidelines require a "spoiler" indication in the topic line.

|thats funny. I'm sure Lance has moods just like everyone else. I like to believe since he has been so cool under fire from everyone for the past four years that he DID exit early to avoid taking attention away from Tyler. I am sure if he or USPS wasnt going to win Tyler would be his first choice. Reminded me of Dauphine a few years back when Lance road for Tyler. During the race, Lance pulled up next to Tyler while they and the peloton were hitting a hill and said "" lets drop these guys "" and Tyler, who at the time was going full speed up the hill, just looked at Lance. Lance really hasnt lost his cool at all during the four years he ahs been heckled on top of mountains, TTs, and every podium he stands on. The guy is overly impressive as a human being and I would venture to say displays some of the best class as anyone in bike racing. Only Robbie Mcewen I think provoked Lance to display a little irritation last year with his big mouth and threats. This is why you saw USPS working with Telekom, after the mtns in TDF, for Eric Zabel.|

|Maybe Lance just wanted his friend to get the limelight for once, so got out of the way.|

|I had heard May 8, and there's still nothing on their Cycling schedule which hasn't been updated for a month.
Guess I'll be setting the VCR Thursday.
