|I'll be in the Daytona area in June and am bringing my road bike. Anyone know if there are any good routes and club rides there?|

|In Daytona, call The Bike Shop, 386-673-3870. Or X-Treme Cycles, 386-677-3480.
Or in Orlando, visit http://www.windermereroadies.com.

|Ask some local cyclists in Daytona about the John Anderson ride. It's a ride up one side of the Intercoastal then down the Beach side on the other. It's a nice scenic loop of about 35 miles. Another good thing to ask about are the Rod's Carpet rides if they still happen and the post office rides on the weekends to Palm Coast (30 miles north) and the weeknight training races in Palm Coast (Seminole Woods) I haven't lived in the Daytona Area since 94 so I don't know how many of those rides still happen. But I also think The Daytona Cycling Club may have a website.. google search for it and see if you can email some people who run the club.
Or you can come west to Gainesville and I will ride with you. G'ville is about an hour or so west and a little north. Actually I think it's about 2 hours from Daytona, only an hour from Palm Coast, St. Augustine, or Jacksonville.
If you do long distance riding, see if you can look up Rob Kish thru DCC. He's a former RAAM winner who lives in Port Orange which is the south side of Daytona. He's always riding.
Have fun in the sun!

|Yeah! How lucky am I???? In about 4 more weeks it will be entirely too hot and way to humid to actually ride in the day time. Ever riden in 95 degree heat paired with 90+% humidity? It sucks!
Oh, and I grew up in Ohio and went to Ohio State, so I am not a Gator fan. Football season doesn't do much for me here.....
But every year there is an new endless supply of gorgeous 18 year old freshman girls. That's a bonus!
OK G'ville's not that bad, but it's not like a mecca either. I have been here for 8 years now and I still haven't gotten used to the humidity.

|I will take a 95 degree day over a 35 degree day anytime. And I would probably take it over a 45 degree day too. I hate the cold weather and the wind chill brought on by rding.
I hear what you are saying about the girls. I get up to Gainesville on business every couple of months. I just know one of these days I am going to rear end someone on University Ave. because I am checking out the ladies.
