Deep Dish Rims(3 posts)

Deep Dish Rimsaljue

I have deep dish rims (Shimano WH7701) and I was wondering if there were any special tire levers that would make replacing flats easier. Conventional tire levers are possible to use....just tougher.
Rims,.. I thought you were talking about PizzaMR_GRUMPY

I guess I don't get what the problem is. It is the cross section of the rim that's deeper, not the area where the tire interfaces (I'm assuming we're talking about clinchers). I have a set of the Specialized TriSpokes (precursor to the Hed3), and have NO problems using conventional tire levers. I use two Quick Sticks (though they say you only need one, it's still easier with two), and have no problems zipping a tire off virtually any rim very quickly. It may just be that the rims you have are on the upper end of the tolerance for diameter (and maybe your tires are on the lower end).
